Running Premio or D-Streamer has meant keeping a Windows machine in the signal chain: patched, licensed, and usually sitting next to boxes that don't need any of that. At IBC2026, DVEO is retiring that dependency on both product lines.

Premio: Multiple Outputs, One Channel

The Linux-based Premio drops the Windows application in favor of a web UI for configuration and monitoring, accessible from any browser on the network, not just the machine sitting next to the encoder. The bigger operational change is multiple outputs per channel: a single encoded channel can now feed more than one destination without adding hardware, which matters for anyone currently duplicating encode paths just to hit two endpoints.

D-Streamer: SDI and UDP, Same Channel

D-Streamer gets the same operating system and interface update. The practical addition is simultaneous SDI and UDP output from a single channel, one decoder feeding a local SDI destination and an IP distribution path at the same time, instead of running two decode paths to cover both.

Why Move Off Windows

"Moving Premio and D-Streamer off Windows and onto Linux isn't just a platform change," said Wouter van Ruth, Global Partnerships and Sales at DVEO. "It's what lets us put a web UI in front of operators and add capabilities like multiple outputs per channel or simultaneous SDI and UDP output. Those are the kinds of requests we hear directly from broadcasters running these boxes every day."
