DVEO Wins Prestigious Technology & Engineering Emmy® Award for DOZER™ Technology
- 30 Nov, 2018
DVEO®, a well respected supplier to leading telco TV/OTT and cable operators around the world, is pleased to announce that DVEO has won a 2018 Emmy® Award for Technology and Engineering from The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS).
NATAS’ Technology & Engineering Achievement Committee awarded DVEO for “Pioneering Reliable Transmission Method for Live Contribution and Distribution TV Links” for DVEO’s patented DOZER™ error correcting streaming transport protocol. DOZER enables video operators to improve their video distribution over IP networks including wireless and the Internet.
DOZER ARQ (Automatic Repeat Request) offers a novel way to deliver video and data packets that minimizes packet loss and jitter. The DOZER ARQ protocol is an extension to UDP protocol. In some cases it can eliminate the need for costly fixed or leased networks for live event contribution, studio-to-transmitter links, satellite backhaul, point-to-multipoint satellite distribution, etc.
“We are extremely proud to be honored with one of the world’s most distinguished awards for original technology development,” said Laszlo Zoltan, CEO of DVEO. “This achievement validates the foresight we had five years ago when we embarked on our push toward IP. Today DVEO has evolved to be a leader with end to end OTT and IPTV solutions. Without doubt these technologies will prevail as the primary delivery methodologies for watching television, movies, sports, news, and just about everything going forward.”
“It’s good that we are recognized for jumping into the IP area when it was a vast unknown territory,” stated Sergio Ammirata, Ph.D., developer of the DOZER technology. “We are most grateful to the panel of judges composed of the technical leaders in our industry.”
